Electrical Engineer

Peninsula Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. Peninsula is a well-established firm, founded in 1977, working in the Commercial, Entertainment, and Healthcare sectors. Peninsula is a medium sized, privately-owned firm specializing in direct owner relationships. Even to this day, Peninsula still serves its’ first client from 1977 and has developed many more long-term relationships along the way. Electrical Engineer Job Responsibilities: 

  • Development of Electrical Power Plans, including power, fire alarm, low voltage, A/V, and lighting.

  • Voltage drop, fault current, and photometric calculations.

  • Emergency generator power system and transfer switch equipment design.

  • Preparing construction documents utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Develop strong relationships with clients, including owners and architects.

  • Coordination with AHJs and plan reviewers.

  • Perform site surveys and construction administration tasks.

  • Create One-line diagrams and estimate electrical service size.

Electrical Engineer Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD

  • Knowledge of current codes that govern our work. (Florida Building Code, NFPA, etc.)

  • Basic Microsoft Office Skills

  • SKM or Easy Power analysis program experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of BIM360 preferred.

  • Diverse project experience.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

  • BS in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited college or university required.

  • 3-5+ years relevant work experience, including internship program experience

  • Project Management Experience is preferred but not required.  

  • Florida PE Desired.
